Xi, Jordan’s King Discuss Economic Implications of Two-State Solution Commitment

In a recent meeting held in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated China’s commitment to fostering a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. During discussions with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Xi emphasized the importance of resuming peace negotiations, advocating for the swift establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The Chinese leader highlighted the necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire, the protection of civilians, the continuation of humanitarian aid, and a political resolution grounded in international law.

Xi underscored the principle that Palestinians should have the right to govern themselves, which includes the administration of the West Bank and the reconstruction efforts in Gaza. His remarks reflect China’s longstanding position on the conflict, supporting a peaceful and negotiated settlement that respects established international frameworks.

Beyond the Middle Eastern peace efforts, the dialogue between Xi and King Abdullah also focused on enhancing the strategic partnership between China and Jordan. Both leaders expressed a commitment to broadening their cooperation across various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, and transportation. They also discussed advancements in digital technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy, indicating a shared interest in sustainable development and innovation.

As a testament to their strengthened bilateral ties, several cooperation agreements were signed in the wake of their discussions. These agreements are expected to pave the way for future collaboration and mutual growth in key areas of interest to both nations.
