Oman and Tanzania are actively working to enhance their trade and investment relations, focusing on creating new business partnerships between the two countries. This initiative was marked by a visit from a delegation of Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to Tanzania. The delegation engaged in discussions with Tanzanian government officials, economic institutions, and the business community to explore avenues for strengthening economic ties and fostering private-sector collaboration.
During these meetings, discussions centered on identifying potential investment opportunities and promoting private-sector partnerships. Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the ministry for Investment Promotion, emphasized that Oman considers Tanzania a key economic partner in East Africa and is committed to expanding cooperation in sectors with promising investment prospects.
The Omani delegation highlighted several factors that make Oman an attractive location for international investors, including its strategic geographic position, robust infrastructure, and favorable investment incentives such as the Golden Residency Programme. These elements are seen as vital in supporting long-term business engagements and attracting foreign investment.
Both nations expressed a mutual interest in facilitating the entry of Omani companies into African markets while simultaneously connecting Tanzanian businesses with investment opportunities in Oman. The discussions also stressed the importance of enhanced communication between government entities and private-sector players to effectively develop joint projects.
This visit is part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand its economic partnerships across Africa, building upon its longstanding relations with Tanzania. The collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both countries to create a more dynamic and mutually beneficial economic relationship.
